James Bond producers talking to Tom Hiddleston and Fantastic Four’s Jamie Bell

Daniel Craig’s time as James Bond is over. There’s been no official word that his stint as 007 is finished, but with each passing day it’s looking less and less like he’s going to continue. After apparently saying no to a huge pile of cash for two more movies, Craig’s vacated spot as the suavest spy in cinematic history won’t sit empty for long. We’ve heard the fancasters cry out for Idris, yet it’s looking like it’ll be a close race between two candidates: Fantastic Four’s Jamie Bell and…. LOKI! Tom Hiddleston, to be precise.

News of Bell entering the mix comes from Deadline, who say he’s reportedly sat down with long-time Bond producer Barbara Broccoli to discuss the part. That’s the extent of the site’s knowledge on Bell’s involvement.

However, it sounds like Hiddleston is no longer just a fan favorite, but a bona fide contender for the part. Birth.Movies.Death reports that the Marvel villain is in “advanced talks” for the role, adding that those chats have indeed taken place, Hiddleston’s keen as mustard, BUT “no official offer has been made – yet.”

There’s several ways that we could take this. The site points out Hollywood has a habit of courting actors they really want for parts by publicising the fact that other thesps are *this close* to signing on. It’s an odd way of doing business, for sure, and if true makes you wonder who they’re actually eyeing for the part. On the other hand, Hiddleston could absolutely be in contention for the role, and is just ironing out the details. He’s more than proved himself capable as a strong lead and dastardly supporting player. Can we get an official confirmation please Sony?

You probably didn’t notice what Batman has taped to his gun in Batman v Superman

It’s always a treat when you get an up close and personal look at the superhero costumes we see in the movies, and Warner Bros are giving fans a chance to do just that with DC Universe: The Exhibit. DC All Access got a sneak preview at the Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad outfits and props attendees will be able to peruse, and while there is plenty of fun stuff to be found there’s one intricate detail in particular that sticks out; Batman’s gun.

There is A LOT going on in Batman’s Knightmare sequence, which is probably why I completely missed the Joker card on Batman’s gun. It’s a lovely little detail though that absolutely fits with Ben Affleck’s portrayal of this darker Bruce Wayne. Earlier in the film Bruce walks by a costume of a former Robin – now confirmed to be Jason Todd – with “Hahahaha joke’s on you Batman” painted over it. His partner’s death is clearly something that he carries with him all the time, and as it turns out that’s even more literal than we previously thought.

Directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Diane Lane, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Laurence Fishburne, and Amy Adams, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is out now.

Directed by David Ayer and starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, and Joel Kinnaman, Suicide Squad will open in the UK and US on August 5, 2016.

X-Men: Apocalypse’s Olivia Munn wants to join “genius” Deadpool for the X-Force movie

Olivia Munn makes her mutant debut in X-Men: Apocalypse as Psylocke. A servant to the film’s big bad, Apocalypse, she’s a highly skilled warrior who’s  darn lethal with that katana. She’s also got a knack for spinning through the air and generally looking cool. And hey, you know who else is generally pretty cool? Deadpool. With both characters existing in the X-Men universe there’s a possibility they could unite for ultimate coolness in the X-Force movie – and Munn is game.

When asked about a team-up with Ryan Reynolds onscreen, Munn seems sold on the idea. “That would be a really cool thing to do,” she tells USA Today. “What he did with Deadpool was genius and I’m so excited for him. It would definitely be cool to see Deadpool and some of the other X-Men characters gather for an X-Force movie. I think that’s what the whole world is coming to — everybody unites together, right? It’s never just one character anymore. We all just become one movie.”

She’s got a point. There’s a bunch of spin-offs in development revolving around the mutants that will undoubtedly crossover and easter-egg each other, until it becomes impossible to tell them apart. Aside from Josh Boone’s New Mutantsand the delayed Gambit film, the X-Force movie would be the perfect place to continue Psylocke’s story. She fought alongside Deadpool in the comics as part of the X-Force; a group of superpowered antiheroes out to kick ass with a touch more brutality than Xavier’s gang of X-Men. Plus we already know she can hold her own with Wade Wilson.

Directed by Bryan Singer and starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Oscar Isaac, Jennifer Lawrence, Olivia Munn, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Rose Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, and Hugh Jackman, X-Men: Apocalypse is in cinemas now.

Here’s a musical tribute to the Dead Island trailer, in case you wanted to cry today

You’re thinking of it right now, aren’t you? Just looking at the headline and image up there, you’re remembering the famous Dead Island reveal trailer – and all the feelings it overwhelmed you with.

Well, publisher Deep Silver would like to stir up those old feelings ahead of the May 31 release date for the remastered Dead Island: Definitive Collection, and to that end they’ve released this live performance of the haunting melody from said trailer.

It’s memorable, beautiful to look at, and heartbreaking. It’s also totally not reflective of what the actual gameplay experience will be like. So, yeah, pretty much exactly like the original trailer then.
